“Everyone I know who is happy is working well [with colleagues] at something they consider important.”

This quote embodies our philosophy at Work Institute. It is a way we define what we believe, why we think it works, and what it means for our corporate culture. In fact, we feel so strongly about this message that we have the quote framed and hung prominently in our office. You can see it right when you walk in the door!

We keep this message front and center as a reminder to work each day to achieve internally what we are helping companies across the globe do every single day.

Shh, did you hear that? LISTEN.

Work Institute listens and teaches you to listen too. We know that by listening to employees that we can discover what motivates them to succeed. We know that by listening we learn new ways to keep employees engaged in our company mission. We know that by listening we create a culture of feedback and employee value – two things that keep a company running, successful and growing.

We’ve listened to our employees over the past 15 years and as a result our employees enjoy an internal culture of feedback with a focus on constant improvement, open collaboration, weekly meetings where each and every employee has a voice, no set vacation days, yearly bonuses, working from home options and fun!

Yes.  We have Guitar Hero in our office. This is because we listened – and our employees said they wanted work to be financially rewarding, provide growth opportunities, and FUN! We have birthday cake on birthdays, we have off-site happy hours, we have coffee breaks mid-morning with the entire staff and we make ourselves talk about things not work related!

This is because we’re focused on being a great place to work. And we achieve that through listening to what our employees need. For example, our VP of Marketing has four school aged sons that she wants to have breakfast and dinner with – so she has certain hours she works in the office and then at home.  One of our Client Services Directors needed to move out of state to finish a degree – so she works remotely and visits us a few times a year as necessary. And our Manager of Data Analysis worked on the road recently as he traveled to help his Dad win a city council election.

By structuring our employment to the needs of our employees – we’ve created an environment where they are able to get work done, be successful and enjoy a proper work-life balance.

We’re using them too.  And they work.

Work Institute specializes in measuring, understanding and predicting workforce behaviors. To reduce turnover, save thousands on internal costs and to positively affect the bottom line we encourage our clients to put into practice a comprehensive feedback strategy including reaching out to employees across multiple touchpoints. Recruiting studies, onboarding studies, engagement studies, stay interviews, exit interviews and HR compliance audits are all ways that you can use our services to gather valuable data that sheds light on the things your organization is doing right and conversely what should be done better.

There’s tremendous value in collecting actionable data in your organization. This is why companies of all sizes and industries should rely on the Work Institute. We have the experience you want and the tools you need to discover what needs to change to achieve success.
